A Waveney Valley Willow ceramic vessel decorated with underglaze colours, pencils and original screenprint. A crisp white background with yellow interior, black underglaze pencil and cobalt blue screenprinted decoration. The design is inspired by the willow trees, hedgerows, tracks and waterways of the Waveney Valley on the border of Norfolk and Suffolk.
Height 8cm, diameter 12cm approx.
About The Ceramics
Inspired and informed by traditional Lowestoft Porcelain, the influence of 'blue and white' ceramics of the 18th century and the flora, fauna and history of life in the Waveney Valley. This piece is thrown on a potters wheel and hand decorated. The white clay body creates a fresh canvas for the hand decoration. Each piece is handmade, bisque-fired and glaze fired. The drawings and paintings on the ceramics make each piece an original work of art.
